New Phone Number and Special Clinic Date for January
There are some important changes that need to be noted. First, the phone number for the Center has been changed to: (913) 232-2235. Second, the January Worker's Rights Clinic will be held on Monday, January 26, instead of the usual 3rd Monday of the month. The normal schedule will resume in February.

Jan 7th Launch for Jobs and Economic Recovery Now
Dear supporters and volunteers of KCWJC,
This is short notice, but I wanted you all to know about the launch--on this Weds. at 11 a.m.--of the Kansas City chapter of Jobs with Justice, which I'm on the leadership team of.
JwJ is a very respected group, with a chapter in St. Louis that has been active for 10 years. Last year they were instrumental in keeping the anti-affirmative action proposal from making it onto ballots in Missouri. Also, Missouri Immigrant and Refugee Advocates (MIRA--which has stopped almost all of the anti-immigrant legislation spewed from the statehouse in the last two years) grew out of JwJ-St. Louis' immigrant rights task force. JwJ works on all kinds of economic justice issues and is really successful at pulling together--and keeping together--coalitions of groups to work on each other's issues, turn out for each other's events, etc.
At the launch/press conference on Weds., we will be calling for an Economy Recovery Package that really addresses the interests of working people. If you're able to come by, even for a few minutes, please do. And please pass this on to other people who know and are concerned about how the economic crisis is affecting real people.
Thank you!,
Megan
